"I absolutely cannot rate this preschool higher. The staff is so incredible, my daughter begs to go to school on her days off, their communication is exceptional — I just cannot recommend them any more. I'd give more stars if I could."

"I highly recommend this daycare! I've been taking both my boys there for over 3 years now and I have nothing but nice things to say about the centre and the workers there. They have excelled my boys' developmental abilities, have always been very supportive to me as a mother, and helped me with every hurdle. Thank you Southport Child Care Centre!"

About Our Centre

Southport Early Learning (formerly Southport Childcare Centre) is a warm, established early-learning centre in the heart of the Gold Coast — a block back from the Broadwater. We are local educators and management, so every child is known by name.

Our centre is a convenient and easy-to-access service a block back from the Broadwater and enjoys all of the privileges the locale provides. A mix of built and natural spaces, we pride ourselves on our engaging and nurturing environments — allowing and encouraging each child to grow and discover the world around them.

High quality of care and building strong relationships are our top priorities, as educators develop out-of-the-box, engaging learning experiences based on the children's current interests and the unique family input each family brings into the service.

More about our program & environment

Southport Early Learning sees the environment as the third educator, and understands that a quality environment responds to the many ways in which children learn, grow and develop.

The warm and inviting environment of the centre lets children and families know that they are welcome, with an aesthetically pleasing, ordered, peaceful space designed to support children's play and stimulate dynamic teaching.

There is plenty of space for children to run, jump, be loud and enjoy hands-on experiences — as well as spaces of beauty, and quiet areas to unwind and rest.

  • Sustainability — at the heart of the centre. Research shows that the earlier children connect with nature and learn about their impact on the environment, the more likely they are to be environmentally responsible as adults. The centre is governed by a sustainability policy with embedded everyday practices.
  • Language program — weekly Japanese lessons with Ms Masako through the Hello Tomodachi Japanese language program, with cultural activities, music, games, stories and singing, plus basic Japanese (counting, body parts, colours and more).
  • Fitness program — the Happy Feet program focuses on movement, dance, and the joy of active play, with a new themed adventure each week in a non-competitive, happy environment where every child can learn, laugh and grow.
  • Sports program — the Ginger Sports soccer program, where children build self-confidence and learn about teamwork in a fun and welcoming space.
  • Regular excursions & incursions — experiences that engage children with the local community and give them a sense of belonging.
